International Skye Terrier Day

The Skye Terrier has a rich history that is deeply connected to Scotland—so much so that it’s the only dog breed with its own tartan! This breed is also celebrated with its own special day: International Skye Terrier Day.

Wondering when to celebrate?

International Skye Terrier Day is observed every year on February 21, a date chosen to mark the introduction of the Skye Terrier tartan.

Established in 2020, the tartan’s vibrant purple, green, and orange colors represent the Isle of Skye, while the gray and black threads symbolize the terrier’s distinctive coat.

Celebrate the day on social media with the hashtag #SkyeTerrierDay.
