Welcome to National Pet Days! You may know us from our sites DogTipper, CatTipper and BirdTipper – but this site is specifically focused on celebrating the days throughout the year that recognize our favorite topic: pets!
From dogs and cats to fish and ferrets, pets are highlighted with special months, weeks and days in every month. Ranging from silly to serious, these holidays and awareness days offer ways to showcase pets and share our love.
These special days also offer the opportunity for pet rescues, veterinary clinics, pet product manufacturers and retailers to celebrate pets and draw awareness to important topics through social media, newsletters and more.
About Us
We’re Paris Permenter and John Bigley, a husband-wife team of professional writers and publishers – and, most importantly, pet parents to dogs Barli and Isla and cats Inca, Jetty and Lucky. In previous years including our childhoods, we’ve also shared our lives with numerous other cats and dogs, numerous fish, a horse, a mule, birds, a rat, a duck, cattle, pigs, chickens and hamsters.
We’ve authored 35 pet and travel books for publishers including Fodor’s, Simon & Schuster, Muir Publications and more. We’ve written over 2,000 magazine articles on pets and travel as well including publication in Reader’s Digest, Fido Friendly, Chewy, Rover and more.
